Quick builds were fun if you got into a decent crew--real fellowship. I recall a 4H hall being in the news for being done by in 2 days by volunteers.
The only place I ever heard ofhaving 5 star work was Warwick. One local had hurt feelings seeing his work repeatedly torn out, and he did good work.
I have seen parking with huge puddles, and engineering to run all rain toward the front door.

Wasn't there a post some time back about luxury homes that seemed to be the real abodes of the elite? Maybe they are barbequeing and having a bourbon in gated suburbia most times and the apartments are just for infrequent visits. I'm pretty sure they have a valet in addition to the (ne essary) secretary.

Zoom? The real powers behind the throne set the agenda and the GB meetings are window dressing? Maybe verbal or even physical fights?

" more to the ministry" brings back memories of Ray Franz.
My bet new elders will have to be pioneers now

The Blood Policy
by NotFormer ina couple of decades ago, any question of the wt dropping or changing the blood policy was met with something along the lines of "they're in too deep, they've killed too many people, the lawsuits would kill them; they can't change it".
a somewhat warped version of the "sunk costs fallacy".. they're already in very deep with the other rod for their own back, the csa payouts.
and some small changes have occurred in the way they handle csa cases.

A tickled memory says the HLC still exists, but now you are supposed to contact them directly. Probably to deny claims they sent in mafia dons to (encourage (watch) free the sheep.

Have Kingdom Halls ever been used as evacuation centres?
by no-zombie inwhile our attentions has been drawn many times to kingdom halls being used as distribution centres (often distributing government supplied relief goods), during a local disaster.
i can't remember reading or hearing of, kingdom halls being opened to house displaced witnesses during these times.. can any one else?.

Most all halls are ill equipped for that. No kitchen, inadequate restrooms, bolted down chairs, no storage for emergency supplies or cots. (Inadequate chaperones?)
But put on your necktie and offer an old tract to people trying to sweep mud from their home.

Hoser
Note that we are getting older and infirmer too. We can't see at night, travel is further in worse traffic, thanks to sharing meetings are at 3 or 4 every third year. Covid amplified the loving isolation. (Elders here don't even know some of us are now in hospice). Meetings are still snooze fests.

Elderberry. I will disagree on a great way of life. Too many petty rules; education, overtime, music, etc.
Good ol boys club
Avoid anything " worldly" often just for the controversy
